The Hidden Half Everyone Skips
When I first started studying Moonology with Yasmin Boland, manifestation was everywhere.
The standard advice you see all over social media makes it sound so simple: get clear on what you want, think positive thoughts, stay in high vibes, and write down your New Moon wishes.
And yet, so many business owners do all of that, only to watch nothing change.
We’re told that if things aren't working, we just aren't vibrating high enough or we need to visualise harder. But the truth is much more practical: positive thinking cannot bypass your own emotional blocks. The thing standing between you and your goals isn’t bad luck or the universe ignoring you. You are the block.
The Hidden Half of Manifesting
Most people only focus on the first half of the cycle: making wishes, setting intentions, and focusing on what they want to add to their life and business.
Moonology isn’t just about adding more stuff onto your plate. It is about letting go of what no longer serves you to create actual space for what you want.
When we manifest, we manifest through our feelings and our heart. The Moon is all about moods, emotions, and your inner state. If your heart is carrying old resentment, anger, or past disappointment, you aren't sending out a clear signal - you're transmitting static.
There is a well-known quote attributed to Buddha that sums this up perfectly:
"Holding onto anger is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die."
When you hold onto a grudge - whether it’s with an ex-business partner, a difficult client, a family member, or yourself for making past mistakes - the only person suffering is you. That unresolved hurt, frustration, and bitterness blocks your channel. You cannot expect to attract ease, good clients, and revenue while holding onto a backlog of irritation and resentment.
Full Moon: Clearing the Backlog
This is why the Full Moon is just as important as the New Moon.
As the Moon swells to fullness, so do our emotions. The Full Moon is at its brightest, shining a light on our internal darkness and the deeper emotional baggage we usually try to ignore.
This is your cosmic checkpoint to stop and look at:
The grudges and toxic dynamics you're still carrying.
The habits and rigid ways of working that are burning you out.
The guilt, fear and disappointment from past projects that didn't go to plan.
Forgiveness isn't about letting someone off the hook or pretending what happened was okay. It’s about releasing your own karmic tie to that situation so you can stop drinking the poison. When you forgive, you clear out the toxic backlog and make room to breathe.
3 Practical Ways to Clear Your Own Blocks
If you are ready to get out of your own way, this is where you start:
Reframe what happened. Everything you have been through - even the hardest business lessons - carries something to learn. Look at the situation and ask what it taught you about your boundaries, your intuition, or how you run your business.
Stop the blame game. Blaming other people, the economy, or the algorithm keeps you stuck in a victim mindset. When you take responsibility for your own life, you reclaim your power to change it.
Forgive yourself. This is the one most business owners skip. Forgive yourself for the times you undercharged, ignored red flags, stayed in the wrong project too long, or didn't follow through. Say it out loud or write it down: speaking your truth helps release the anger and guilt you’ve been aiming inward.
Grab your Moon Notebook to write down your full forgiveness and release list this cycle. Releasing it onto the page takes it out of your head and clears the way for real momentum.
The Full Moon Forgiveness & Release Ritual
If you want to move beyond thinking about forgiveness and actually get it out of your system, doing a physical release makes all the difference. You don’t need an elaborate setup; you just need paper, a pen and ten quiet minutes.
Write your uncensored list: Write down everything and everyone you are holding resentment toward. Include the client who didn't pay on time, the partnership that fell apart, the launch that flopped, and the mistakes you're still punishing yourself for. Be brutally honest—no one else is going to read this.
Visualise and cut the cord: Close your eyes and picture each person or situation in front of you. Acknowledge the hurt or frustration, and consciously say out loud: "I forgive you, and I release you." You are not saying what happened was right; you are cutting the energetic cord that is keeping you tied to it.
Burn or destroy the paper: Safely burn the piece of paper in a fireproof dish or sink, or tear it up into tiny shreds. As it burns, imagine that static and heavy resentment completely leaving your energy field.
Follow with gratitude: Once the list is gone, write down three things in your business you are genuinely grateful for right now. Replacing resentment with gratitude shifts your vibration immediately and anchors you back into a state of receiving.
The Attachment Trap: Why Forcing Your Goals Backfires
Once you have cleared out old grievances, the second biggest block business owners face is over-attachment.
We set a goal for a specific revenue number, a particular client, or an exact launch date, and then we grip onto it with white knuckles. When things don’t happen on that rigid schedule, panic sets in, we spiral into self-doubt, and we end up repelling the very momentum we want.
True manifestation requires holding the vision while releasing your grip on how it gets delivered.
The Universe might have a better idea: Have you ever desperately wanted a specific project or contract, missed out on it, only for something five times better to land in your inbox a month later? Missing out on what you thought you wanted is often protection, not failure.
Releasing the timeline: You cannot control other people's free will, nor can you force market conditions to bow to your calendar. When you stay stubbornly attached to one rigid outcome, you close the door to better opportunities trying to reach you.
The daily surrender: When you write down your business intentions, add the phrase: "This, or something better, now manifests for me under grace in perfect ways." State what you want clearly, take your grounded daily action, and then step back.
Clearing your blocks isn't a one-and-done exercise. It is an ongoing cycle of clearing static, setting clear direction, and staying out of your own way.
Working with the Zodiac: Releasing Different Blocks Every Month
Just as you aren’t meant to do the same tasks every day, you aren’t meant to clear out the same emotional blocks all year round.
Every month, the Full Moon moves into a different sign, shining a light on a specific tension point between two competing priorities. Instead of trying to fix everything at once, each Full Moon hands you a targeted focus for what needs balancing and releasing:
Aries Full Moon (Balancing your needs with client/collaborator demands): Time to release lingering anger, reckless decisions, or arguing just for the sake of it. Ask yourself: Where am I holding onto old anger, and what is actually stopping me from being assertive, brave, and handling myself better?
Taurus Full Moon (Balancing your feelings with practical business tasks): Time to release stubbornness and resistance to change. Ask yourself: Where am I digging my heels in, what stops me from being adaptable, and why am I neglecting my own self-care and capacity?
Gemini Full Moon (Balancing information overload with actual implementation): Time to release nervous energy, shallow work, and fear of commitment. Ask yourself: Why am I struggling to communicate clearly, and what is stopping me from being consistent with my message?
Cancer Full Moon (Balancing business ambition with rest and home life): Time to release the urge to put everyone else’s needs before your own. Ask yourself: What is stopping me from putting myself first, and what emotional insecurities do I need to heal to feel confident in my business?
Leo Full Moon (Balancing your community's needs with your creative voice): Time to release self-doubt and stop hiding your visibility. Ask yourself: Where am I blocking my passion, what stops me from having fun in my business, and where do I need to be brave enough to express myself?
Virgo Full Moon (Balancing grounded daily operations with big dreams): Time to release perfectionism, micromanagement, and harsh self-criticism. Ask yourself: Where am I being overly critical or inflexible with myself and my systems, and what will truly support my personal growth?
Libra Full Moon (Balancing your boundaries with pleasing other people): Time to release the exhaustion of over-compromising and one-sided agreements. Ask yourself: Where am I bending over backwards just to keep clients or partners happy, and what is stopping me from making firm decisions?
Scorpio Full Moon (Balancing intense drive with passive complacency): Time to release deep resentments, fear, and control issues. Ask yourself: What deep hurts or fears are keeping me stuck, and what blocks do I have around trusting my team and clients?
Sagittarius Full Moon (Balancing your perspective with over-explaining): Time to release dogmatic views and stop doubting your inner wisdom. Ask yourself: Why don’t I listen to my own intuition, where am I not seeing the truth, and what blocks do I have around expanding into true abundance?
Capricorn Full Moon (Balancing the demands of business targets and personal life): Time to release disorganisation, self-doubt, and rigid workaholism. Ask yourself: Where am I not being practical, what fear is stopping me from building real discipline, and what is actually blocking my success?
Aquarius Full Moon (Balancing being everything to everyone with genuine connection): Time to release outdated habits and the fear of standing out. Ask yourself: What outdated beliefs and bad habits do I need to ditch, and where do I not feel safe simply showing up as myself?
Pisces Full Moon (Balancing your need for inner peace with daily duties): Time to release over-giving, avoidance, and playing the victim when things get hard. Ask yourself: Where am I deluding myself, giving far too much of my energy away, or failing to trust my own decisions?
When you follow the lunar cycle across the year, you stop guessing what needs clearing. The zodiac provides a built-in rhythm - giving you permission to address one specific friction point at a time so you can reset your energy and keep your business moving forward.
