Neptune in Aries

On the 26th of January, Neptune will re-enter Aries and stay there until 2039. This marks the start of a new 165-year cycle around the zodiac. For the last 14 years, Neptune has been drifting through Pisces, through the realms of collective empathy, mysticism and confusion. As the cycle starts again, it begins in the fire of Aries. This week’s blog will look at what you need to know about this major astrological shift.

Neptune is the planet of dreams. It is associated with poetry, soulmates, imagination and the things you can’t quite see and touch. It covers daydreams and mystical visions. The dreams you have while you are asleep, as well as the dreams you have about your life. In business, Neptune is the vision of what you want. Your Neptune reveals where you’re inspiring and inspired; it shows you how you romanticise life. It is also about fantasy and deception.

Neptune is one of the generational planets and spends around 14 years in each sign, depending on any retrogrades. This means it can take anywhere between 146 and 165 years to travel through all 12 signs. As Aries is the first sign of the zodiac, Neptune's move represents a generational “reset button”. Neptune did take a dip into Aries between the 30th of March and the 22nd of October last year, before returning to Pisces. This time, Neptune will remain in Aries for the next 13 years, until March 2039.

As the first sign of the zodiac, Aries is a leader. This is a go-getter, outgoing sign. They are spontaneous and enthusiastic. Ruled by Mars, this is a sign of action. So when Neptune, a more spiritual and watery energy, enters this fiery and selfish sign, we are going to get a steamy environment where the visionary will blend with the warrior.

While Neptune was in Pisces, it was all about feeling for everyone. The move into Aries is about fighting for what you believe in. The passive and spiritual vibe of going with the flow is ending as we start an era of active idealism. This is also going to be a time of questioning who we really are and a profound re-invention of our identities. This is because Aries rules the “I Am” while Neptune dissolves boundaries. This is when charismatic and visionary leaders will rise. Just watch out for the ones selling an illusion.

Coming up next month on the 20th of February, we have a rare “cosmic reset” event happening that occurs once every 36 years. This is when Neptune will meet Saturn, and you can probably already feel that energy building. Saturn represents reality and structure, while Neptune represents dreams and illusions. As this meeting will occur at the very first degrees of Aries, it acts as a bridge. The question is “Can you make your dreams real?” This is a time for grounding your dreams into something tangible. Something has to give to create the space for new, more solid structures.

One of the ways that we can understand astrology and use it to predict what will happen is to look at the past. The last time Neptune was in Aries was between 1861 and 1875. During this time, we saw the American Civil War, the birth of modern Italy and Germany and pioneering breakthroughs in the discovery of pasteurisation and major steps in antiseptic surgery.

So how can we navigate this transit? It might feel overwhelming because the energy is going to be quite high voltage. Neptune can make you feel "intoxicated" by a new idea. So wait 48 hours before acting on a "revelation" to try and tame any impulsivity. If you are experiencing an identity crisis, then use this time for creative self-expression. Things like painting, music, and performance are great outlets for this "steamy" energy. Aries wants to move, while Neptune can make us want to escape. If you feel like numbing out, try physical movement (like dance or martial arts) to ground the Neptunian fog.

When Neptune moves into Aries on the 26th of January, for its 13-year stay, it will trigger a specific area of your life based on your sign, just like the New and Full Moons do. For the most accurate forecast, you should find your Rising Sign below, as this determines exactly which part of your chart Neptune is moving through. If you don’t know your Rising Sign you can find it here. And if you don't know your time of birth, then you can just use your Sun Sign to get an idea of the flavour of this transit. You should note that if you have any planets in early Aries, Cancer, Libra, or Capricorn, then you will feel this "re-entry" on the 26th of January much more personally than others. For each sign, I have given a general theme, the shift you might feel and what to watch out for.

Aries: Identity and Appearance

You are the "Ground Zero" for this transit. Neptune in your 1st house is about dissolving the old "I" to make room for a more soulful version of yourself.

  • You may feel less like a "warrior" and more like a "visionary." Your physical appearance might soften, or you may find yourself drawn to more artistic/ethereal styles.

  • You could feel "foggy" about your direction. Don't rush into a total identity overhaul; let the new "you" emerge slowly.

Taurus: Spirituality and Closure

Neptune is moving into your house of the subconscious and the unseen. This is a deeply private and spiritual transit.

  • Your dream life will become incredibly vivid. You are being asked to heal old family karma and release ghosts from the past. It’s an era for meditation, therapy, and solitude.

  • Avoid using this transit as an excuse to check out or isolate too much from reality.

Gemini: Community and Social Vision

Your social circles are about to get a mystical makeover. You are moving away from surface-level networking toward more soul-group connections.

  • You’ll be drawn to humanitarian causes or groups with a visionary mission. You might become a spiritual influencer or a connector for a revolutionary idea.

  • Neptune can make you idealise friends who might let you down. Be careful of "groupthink" or charismatic leaders in your social circles.

Cancer: Career and Public Legacy

Neptune is hitting the highest point in your chart. This transit is about finding the soul in your work.

  • You may lose interest in climbing the ladder for the sake of money and instead want a career that heals or inspires others. Your public image becomes more charismatic and influential.

  • Your professional direction might feel unclear for a while. Don't quit your day job until you have a clear visionary plan (Saturn’s conjunction in February will help with this).

Leo: Philosophy and Higher Wisdom

This transit is a quest for meaning. You are dismantling your old beliefs to find a more universal truth.

  • You may feel a pull toward mystical studies, long-distance travel to sacred sites, or teaching others your unique worldview.

  • Be wary of spiritual ego or falling for dogmatic new-age traps. Keep your feet on the ground even as you explore the stars.

Virgo: Intimacy and Shared Resources

Neptune here works in the deepest, most private parts of your life. It's about merging your soul with others.

  • You may experience soulmate connections or find that your financial life becomes more tied to your ideals (like investing in conscious companies).

  • This house also rules debt and taxes. Neptune can cause fog here, so keep your receipts and be very clear about financial boundaries in partnerships.

Libra: Relationships and Partnerships

Neptune is moving through your house of Other People. This is the classic "rose-coloured glasses" transit for love.

  • You seek a deep, spiritual bond with a partner. You may attract artistic, sensitive, or wounded healer types who mirror your own internal growth.

  • There is a high risk of projecting perfection onto people who are actually flawed. Remember: compassion is good, but don't become a martyr in your relationships.

Scorpio: Health and Daily Work

For you, the magic happens in the mundane. Your daily life is being spiritualised.

  • You may find that traditional medicine doesn't hit the same way, leading you toward holistic health, yoga, or energetic healing. Your job needs to feel like a calling.

  • Neptune here can make you sensitive to environmental toxins or stress. Listen to your body - it will speak in whispers during this transit.

Sagittarius: Creativity and Romance

This is a high-colour transit for you. Neptune is igniting your creative and romantic fire.

  • You are likely to experience a massive surge in artistic inspiration. Love might feel like a fairytale, and you'll find joy in the magic of play.

  • In romance, the high can be followed by a crash when reality sets in. Use this energy to create art rather than just chasing the next romantic high.

Capricorn: Home and Roots

Neptune is moving into your foundations. This is about finding a spiritual home.

  • You may want to turn your home into a sanctuary or move closer to water. You are healing deep-seated childhood patterns and ancestral stories.

  • Watch for literal water issues in the home (leaks/pipes) and emotional leaks where family boundaries become too blurry.

Aquarius: Communication and Local Mindset

Your mind is becoming a sponge for psychic and intuitive information.

  • You may find yourself speaking more poetically or intuitively. Your relationship with siblings or neighbours could take on a more compassionate, supportive tone.

  • Neptune can make logical tasks (like data entry or following directions) feel like a chore. Double-check your emails - things can easily get lost in translation.

Pisces: Values and Money

Since Neptune is your ruler, this is a major moving day. You are moving from "Who am I?" (1st House) to "What do I value?" (2nd House).

  • You are learning that your worth isn't tied to your bank account. You may find intuitive or creative ways to make money that feel much more aligned with your soul.

  • Money can feel slippery now. It comes in and goes out in waves. Having a solid budget (even a loose one) will help you manage the ebb and flow.

I hope you have found this week's blog helpful. Let me know in the comment section which area of your life Neptune is travelling through.
