The second New Moon of the year is officially bringing us into our first eclipse season. On Tuesday, the 17th of February at 12:00 pm (GMT), we have an Annular Solar Eclipse in experimental Aquarius.

This is a potent seed moment for your year. The Universe is shifting gears, creating a fast-paced environment characterised by rapid transformation and bold, decisive action.

The Year of the Fire Horse

The Aquarius New Moon also marks the start of the New Chinese Year: The Year of the Fire Horse. This transition brings a unique meeting of energies:

• Fire: Intensity, passion, and visibility.

• The Horse: Speed, independence, and movement.

This combination ensures a high-energy start to the eclipse season, pushing us toward rapid transformation and bold, decisive action as the Universe shifts gears.

Working with the Lunar Cycles

New Moons mark the start of a new lunar cycle. This is a time to set out intentions for the next 4 weeks, which will help us to achieve our goals or maintain some aspect of our lives. Generally, anything started under a New Moon should be completed by the Full Moon in the same sign. This gives us a 6-month container to work with. Key Transits: The Ring of Fire & Surrounding Planets

The Ring of Fire Eclipse: This New Moon is an Annular Solar Eclipse, the one that creates a Ring of Fire. The Moon will pass in front of the Sun, but be too far away from the Earth to completely cover the Sun. Instead, we see a large black disk on top of a larger bright disc, creating this Ring of Fire around the Moon.

Eclipse season happens twice a year, and this will be the start of the first one this year. This is when the Universe changes gear. So if you have wandered off your path, then you can expect the Universe to course correct for you now. This could well come in the form of a disaster. That is why it is important to remain positive, to look for the lesson and to know that everything is happening for you, not against you. When the dust has settled and you look back, you will see how this was a good thing that created the space you needed in your life for something bigger and better to come in.

The Nodes: Growth and Collaboration 

Eclipses happen on either the North or South Node. The South Node is our comfort zone, while the North Node is where we are going and what we have to work towards. This is a North Node Eclipse in Aquarius, so this could mean collective growth and technological advancement. With the South Node in Leo, it’s time to move away from your own ego and be more open to collaborating for the greater good.

Mars: Drive and Determination

Right next to the Sun and Moon in quirky Aquarius, we find Mars, the planet of drive and determination. While Mars is here, we are being encouraged to cooperate and be a team player. We should also watch out for erratic energy levels and angry outbursts. This is also going to make this New Moon a great time for getting things done and completing projects. Maybe even spice things up in the bedroom.

Uranus: Innovative Solutions and Sudden Shifts

Over in stable and reliable Taurus, we find Uranus, the crazy planet of chaos and mayhem, squaring up to the Eclipse energy. Now that Uranus has ended its five-month retrograde, we can start finding innovative solutions to start adapting to anything that came up for us around money, personal values and security during that five-month period. And as this is an Eclipse, and Uranus is involved, we could be in for a shocking new situation or a development that we had no idea was coming.
